Hymn Sung by Boquist and Walbom

Low Bandwidth | High Bandwidth

Description:

A reading of the hymn sung by Boquist and Walbom after they were released from prison in Orebro, Sweden in 1843 for preaching that the hour of God's judgment had come (Rev. 14:6, 7). At 15 and 18 years of age, respectively, they had been whipped with birch rods until their backs bled and imprisoned. After their wounds had healed, they were asked if they would cease preaching this doctrine, and although they were beaten again, opening their wounds afresh, they had replied, "We will preach the preaching that the Lord bids us." Taken from "The Great Second Advent Movement: It's Rise and Progress" by J. N. Loughborough (1905 edition), pages 140-144.
